Barca to step up Philippe Coutinho pursuit with £80m bid.

Barcelona won't let up in their pursuit of Liverpool's attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho this summer.
The Spanish giants had an initial bid of £72m turned down by the Anfield club last week but have not turned their back on the Brazilian.

Instead, Barca directors are said to have returned to London yesterday, according to Spanish newspaper Sport, in order to continue talks with the player's representatives and Liverpool officials.
And the article adds that despite Liverpool's insistence they will not sell Coutinho, it is believed they will sell for a "good transfer figure".That figure could well be in the region of £80m, report the Daily Star.Coutinho signed a new five-year deal worth £8m a year at Liverpool back in January, but Barcelona are refusing to give up on the Brazilian.
Reports claim Philippe Coutinho is desperate to join Barcelona
Regardless of whether Neymar stays or leaves Barca, the club are desperate to add Liverpool's playmaker to their ranks.

Initially it had appeared that Barcelona would only step up their move should Neymar leave this summer. However, their interest has not waned in Coutinho now that Neymar is swaying towards staying at the Nou Camp. In fact, even Neymar himself is keen for Coutinho to jump on board to double the number of Brazilians in the Barca ranks.Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp remains confident Coutinho will stay on Merseyside.

"Everyone knows that Phil Coutinho is a key player for us. I know that he feels completely more than fine, comfortable, whatever, in Liverpool," Klopp said.
