Arsene Wenger admits interest in Thomas Lemar as Arsenal prepare to offer £45m for Monaco midfielder.

The Gunners have had bids of £30m and £40m turned down but they are prepared to beat their old transfer record again.
Arsene Wenger has admitted his interest in signing Thomas Lemar - and Arsenal will go back for a third bid. The Gunners have seen bids of £30million and £40m rejected as they try to land the Frenchman from Monaco this summer. Arsenal are prepared to pay in excess of £45m to land Lemar and beat their old transfer record for the second time in a matter of weeks. Alexandre Lacazette joined for a fee of £52m earlier this summer, beating the £42.5m previous high that they paid for Mesut Ozil in 2013.
But if a deal can not be done, Wenger says that Arsenal are flexible with their targets. He admitted: “He’s a player that we follow yes, we look at. “We are looking at more signings. But there’s nothing really concrete about any singings.”
Wenger has also has ruled out Alexis Sanchez joining Manchester City and insists that Olivier Giroud is going nowhere.
