Transfer news recap: Ozil,
Bale, Willian, Lamela and the
rest of Wednesday's gossip
and done deals as they
happened
Catch up with all the horse-trading,
posturing, turning to the left and
coughing that took place in the transfer
market on Wednesday
That's your lot for today, folks.
But before I go, let's recap some of
today's big stories:
Roma confirm sale of Erik
Lamela to Spurs
Tottenham also eyeing up
Christian Eriksen
Arsenal target Mesut Ozil
insists he's happy in Spain
Willian completes Chelsea
move after being granted a
work permit
Swansea re-sign Tiendalli
Dwight Tiendalli will never be in such
lofty company again.
Do join us tomorrow for all the
latest news and rumours as the
transfer window rumbles towards its
conclusion.
They may have tied up the signing of
the day but Tottenham show no
signs of slowing down in the transfer
market.
Ajax sporting director Marc
Overmars has comfirmed that Danish
playmaker Christian Eriksen is in
talks with Spurs over a potential
move.
But you already knew that , right?
More on Erik Lamela , you say?
Why ever not, we respond!
Here's our man Ed Malyon's scout
report of the new Tottenham man.
Spoiler: he's a bit bloody good.
Here are some more details of that
Erik Lamela deal.
It seems that Roma's signing of
Adem Ljajic from Fiorentina started a
domino effect that has allowed Spurs
to get their man.
We all know who the next domino is,
as well.
Clue: He's Welsh and talented and
expensive and ranks Madrid among
his top two European cities.
Another done deal incoming!
And it's one we've been anticipating
for a while.
Roma have confirmed that Erik
Lamela has joined Tottenham
Hotspur .
The London club will pay an initial
€30million for the Argentinian
winger, plus up to €5million more if
certain conditions are met.
More on this coming up...
We have a signing, ladies and gents!
Not just a signing, but a re-signing.
(Very important hyphen there.
Nobody has resigned.)
Swansea have tied up a new deal
for Dwight Tiendalli, who impressed
on both sides of the back four at the
Liberty Stadium last season.
His short-term deal expired at the
start of the summer but the Swans
have pulled their fingers out and
snapped him up for the next three
years.
It's been a while since we heard
from a certain Mr Barton on Twitter,
hasn't it?
But wait!
The QPR midfielder is back with a
bang! Well not a bang but a nugget
of interesting news. He has
revealed that he turned down a
move to Crystal Palace in favour of
staying on at QPR.
OK, it's not a rant at Didier Hamman
or a full-on Nietzschean meltdown,
but it's better than nowt.
Erik Lamela update!
Sky Sports Italy's Riccardo Trevisani
reports that the Roma wonderkid
will fly to London this evening
(18:45, to be precise) to finalise his
move to Spurs.
According to Trevisani, Lamela will
undergo a medical tomorrow...
...if Chelsea don't decide to troll
their neighbours again.
There's another sort of signing
today, and it involves Santi Cazorla!
Fear not though, Arsenal fans,
because he's only signing for PUMA -
the new Arsenal kit supplier for next
season - and will wear their new
evoSPEED 1.2 football boots this
weekend for the North London
derby.
And doesn't he look delighted about
it?
After being accused of being 'biased'
earlier, and not being very good at
being funny. It's heartwarming to
see this:
Must say that I am quite
impressed with
@MirrorFootball 's coverage on
the AvB press conference. Best
wishes to Bale, Welcome to
Lamela.

Cheers.
I am biased though, heavily biased
Bristol Rovers fan. The only club that
really matters in this world.
